A six-month hybrid mental health campaign implemented in partnership with the Kofi Annan Foundation, MCW Global, and the Alliance of Africa’s YMCAs.
The Sawa Project deployed community approach sessions reaching young people in schools, communities, hospitals, and workplaces across Uganda, with cross-border learning collaboration in Rwanda and Malawi.


What we delivered:
- Mental health symposiums in 3 secondary schools: Kabojja International School, Lubiri High School, and Nabisunsa Girls School
- Community approach sessions at Youth Hub Bukoto
- Digital mental health awareness campaigns reaching 500+ youth
- Identification and mentorship of 100+ Youth Mental Health Champions
- Collaborative learning exchange with youth-led partners in Rwanda and Malawi
Impact achieved:
- 500+ young people reached through programming and digital campaigns
- 100+ peer educators identified and trained
- 1 school mental health club established
- Multi-country collaboration model developed
